“Ordinary Man”

I’m a wanderer like the rest of them

Fighting demons with my hands

I’m a broken piece of human

I’m an ordinary man

I’m a vagrant to my home town

Fighting for a place to stand

I’m no different than my brothers

I’m an ordinary man

If what gives me worth is the measure of me

Then honestly, what kind of man could I be

All my faults and my follies, if I kept them at bay

Would burn to my core until I waste away

I’m the canvas for the painter

With no color til its planned

To the Artist I’m His masterpiece

But I’m an ordinary man

I’m the son of mighty warriors

In a battle for this land

I’m an heir to the High King

But I’m an ordinary man

If what gives me worth is the measure of me

Then honestly, what kind of man could I be

All my faults and my follies, if I kept them at bay

Would burn to my core until I waste away

I can try to move the mountains

I can try to take a stand

But if I’m alone all I can ever be

Is an ordinary man

Cuz I’m an ordinary man
